The kiosk shows the wrong clock status

Short answer

Tap your name. The kiosk checks your current status before it shows your buttons. The staff list also refreshes every 30 seconds, and reloading the kiosk page refreshes it straight away.

Why it happens

Each kiosk tablet keeps its own list of who is on shift. If you clock on another tablet or in My Roster, a tablet finds out the next time it checks. A tablet that is offline keeps clocks to itself until its connection comes back.

Tap your name to check

  1. Tap your name on the kiosk. It checks your current status before it shows your buttons.
  2. Read the line under your name, for example On shift since a time, On break since a time, or Not on shift.
  3. Tap the right button: Start shift, End shift, Start break or End break.

If it still looks wrong, tap Cancel and tap your name again.

The list refreshes every 30 seconds

While the staff list is on screen, the kiosk quietly refreshes it every 30 seconds. It doesn't refresh while the tablet is offline, while someone is clocking, or while the kiosk isn't the app on screen.

To refresh it straight away, reload the kiosk page in the browser.

If you see Could not save

If your status changed on another device, the kiosk shows Could not save and Your clock action did not go through. Try again. It then checks your status again and shows the right buttons. Read the line under your name before you tap again.

If the tablet is offline

If the kiosk shows You are offline, clocks are saved on that tablet and sent when the connection comes back. Until then, other tablets and managers can't see them. See The kiosk says You are offline.

If it's still wrong

Tell a manager. They can see who is clocked in on the On shift page and end a shift there. See See who's on shift right now. They can fix any times on Timesheets. See Fix a timesheet.
