Short answer

At the kiosk, tap your name, enter your 4-digit PIN, then tap Start shift, Start break, End break or End shift. You can also clock on your phone in My Roster if your venue allows it.

Open in Roux Roster

Clock in at the kiosk

  1. On the venue tablet, find your name. Type in Search your name if the list is long. People due to start soon are under Due now.
  2. Tap your name.
  3. Enter your 4-digit PIN.
  4. Tap Start shift.
  5. Check the screen says Clocked in and the time.

First time at the kiosk? It asks you to choose a PIN first. See Set or reset your kiosk PIN.

Start and end a break at the kiosk

  1. Tap your name and enter your PIN.
  2. Tap Start break. The screen says Break started.
  3. When you come back, tap your name and enter your PIN again.
  4. Tap End break. The screen says Break ended.

You can take up to two breaks in one shift.

Clock out at the kiosk

  1. Tap your name and enter your PIN.
  2. Tap End shift.
  3. Check the screen says Clocked out.

If you are still on a break, you can tap End shift straight away. The break ends at the same time.

Take a photo when you clock in

Some venues ask for a photo when you clock in. If yours does, the camera opens after you enter your PIN.

  • Look at the camera. If the photo is required, it counts down and takes the photo by itself.
  • If the photo is optional, tap Take photo or Continue without photo.
  • If a required photo can't be taken, you aren't clocked in and you see Photo needed. Ask a manager for help.
  • Breaks never need a photo.

Clock on your phone in My Roster

Some venues let staff clock on their phone. Your Admin sets this for each venue.

  1. Open Roux Roster on your phone and go to Roster.
  2. Tap Clock in. You are clocked in at your home venue.
  3. Use Start break, End break and Clock out on the same card.

If your phone says Clock in on the venue kiosk, your venue only allows clocking on the tablet.

If the kiosk says Could not save

  • Could not save means the clock didn't go through. Tap Try again. If the button still says Start shift or End shift, your status changed on another device. Read the line under your name before you tap. See The kiosk shows the wrong clock status.
  • Wrong PIN. Try again means the PIN didn't match. Enter it again carefully.
  • Too many attempts. Ask a manager. means the kiosk has locked your PIN after 5 wrong tries. Set a new PIN in My Roster, or ask an Admin to reset it. See Set or reset your kiosk PIN.
  • Saved on this tablet means the kiosk is offline. Your clock is kept and sends when the connection comes back.
