What’s new
Recent changes to Roux Roster for venues in Australia, newest first.
Kiosk keeps everyone's clock status current
ImprovedWhen someone taps their name on the kiosk, it now checks their latest clock status first. Venues with more than one kiosk tablet always see whether that person is already clocked in.
The staff list on the kiosk also refreshes quietly every 30 seconds. If two devices clock the same person at once, the kiosk shows Could not save and checks that person's status again.
The kiosk shows the wrong clock status
Push to Xero retries and lists anyone not saved
ImprovedIf Xero is busy or briefly unavailable during Push to Xero, Roux Roster now waits and tries again by itself instead of skipping people.
Anyone who still couldn't be saved is listed in a Not saved to Xero box, with each person's name and the reason. It stays on screen until you close it. Push again with just those people ticked.
Push to Xero didn't send everyone
Payslip push counts ordinary hours toward leave
FixedWhen you push payslips to Xero, ordinary hours for full-time and part-time staff now count toward leave, including evening, weekend and public holiday hours. Overtime still doesn't. If a person's ordinary rate in Xero doesn't match Roux Roster's, that person is held so you can check, rather than pushed with the wrong amount.
Add entry opens on the day you're viewing
ImprovedOn Timesheets, Add entry now starts on the day you're looking at. In Day view that's the selected day. For a week, it's today if today is in that week, otherwise the Monday. You can still pick a different date.
Casual overtime follows each award's own rate
FixedUnder the Hospitality, Restaurant and Clubs awards, casual overtime is now worked out at that award's own overtime rate, with no extra 25% casual loading on top. Fast Food is unchanged. On those three awards, the first-2-hours overtime rate also starts again each day instead of carrying on from earlier in the week.
Clubs casuals reach daily overtime after 12 hours
FixedCasuals on the Clubs award now go into daily overtime after 12 hours in a day, instead of 11.5, as the award sets out. Timesheet costs and the payroll hours exports both use this.
Payroll exports follow the Department filter
ImprovedWhen you choose a department on Timesheets, the payroll export files now include only the people in that department. The Push to Xero list follows the filter too, but pushing is turned off until you choose All departments, because a push always sends the whole pay run.
Junior rates updated for Hospitality and Clubs
FixedJunior rates on the Hospitality award now run to age 19: 70% at 18 and 85% at 19. The Clubs award now has its own junior table, so under-18s are worked out at 60%. Junior rates use the staff member's date of birth.
Restaurant award Sunday rates updated
FixedRestaurant award casuals at Level 3 and above are now worked out at 175% on Sundays. Lower levels stay at 150%. Full-time and part-time staff now get 200% from their first hour of Sunday overtime.
Clearer prompt when Xero needs reconnecting
ImprovedIf your Xero connection stops working, Settings › Integrations now shows Needs reconnecting. Admins also see a message on the Dashboard with Open Integrations, and get an email. Leave and new staff update from Xero again once you click Allow.
Xero says it needs reconnecting
Auto-break Off means no break is taken off
FixedAt venues with Auto-break turned off, a clock with no break recorded now counts in full everywhere: on Timesheets, in cost figures and in payroll exports. Breaks you enter yourself are still taken off as normal.
Tick who to include before you push or export
ImprovedPush to Xero now opens a side panel where you tick who to include. In Australia, Export for payroll opens the same panel, so you choose who goes in the file. Long staff lists scroll inside the panel, and the page behind stays still.
Fewer false Xero reconnect warnings
FixedFixed a problem where the Xero connection could say it was connected and also ask you to reconnect. When a reconnect really is needed, you now see one clear message.
Restaurant award junior and public holiday rates
FixedRestaurant award junior rates now follow the award's own table: 50% under 17, 60% at 17, 70% at 18 and 85% at 19. Public holiday hours for full-time and part-time staff are now worked out at 225%. Before, they showed as $0.
No placeholder pay rate for new Australian staff
FixedIn Australia, owners and staff added without a pay rate, by invite, Add staff or a file import, now start with no rate instead of a placeholder figure. Enter their rate on their profile.
Set pay rates, award levels and employment typeService view marks today only in this week
FixedIn the roster's Service view, the Today marker now shows only on the current week. It no longer shows on the same weekday when you look at other weeks.
Sign in works first time
FixedThe Sign in button now waits a moment until the sign-in page has fully loaded. This stops the page reloading, or saying your email is missing, when you sign in very quickly or use autofill.
